I spent 15 years in Topeka as Vice President of a promotional marketing and advertising company, managing campaigns for well-known brands like Budweiser, Miller Brewing, Coca-Cola, Kraft, Nabisco, and Smucker’s.

In 2001, I returned to the Wichita area and found my perfect spot in the country — convinced I’d never live in town again. But life had other plans: after a divorce, I relocated to Louisiana.

Eventually, Vic and I found our way back to each other on one of the Louisiana moves. Today, I'm the Founder and Publisher of OUT in Kansas, a media source serving the LGBTQ+ community in Kansas.

It seems I just can’t stay away from the newspaper/media world! My journey has taken me through Newton, Louisiana, Colorado, Oklahoma — and finally back home to Wichita.

I came, I went, I graduated and never walked back in the building until it became my polling location.
